Mom was Ragin' Cajun CD TD JH...impressing titles

^Mulligan^ was born March 03,93. I went looking for him long before he came into this world. Rick and I did study alot on what we wanted in a new family member, we thought on a size the shape and the fur.  The Christmas before ^Mulligan^ was born the only gifts I wanted were books and tapes on Goldens...I was ready...We had met with ^Mullies^ grandmother...and we waited...and we waited...
You can't tell from this picture, but ^Mulligan^ is right in there by Cajuns back hip with his nose pushed up to her you know whats.....

Puppy Party....aka Baby Shower

1 week before I could bring him home to us

Puppy Party..All the new puppy parents were there. Bev(breeder) had a show judge come, he put each pup on a table. Then went through the steps of judging. I really can't remember how ^Mullie^ did,but who cares. We had food and games. I only put ^Mulligan^ down when I had to. It was a great day,I remember it was the first time I could be with him really without Bev close by the whole time.

Can tell who is ^Mulligan^

Hint...remember he was a kissing fool..Yep the one kissing on his sister

All of ^Mulligans^ brothers and sisters are still alive, even mom is going strong. At the party there was a nice couple I got talking with. They were always kidding with me..He would say to his wife "When that lady puts down that yellow boy down I'm going to grab him". One time I had to go in, when I came back to the yard the man pretended to go after ^Mullie^..I ran for him..We laughed..
Show people got first pick of the pups, then field trials got to pick, then pet people. I held my breath from the time Rick picked him out just 2weeks after he was born tell I got him in the car with me.

One month with us

He grew far to fast

^Mulligan^ learned at a very young age how to be a camera ham. I took pictures of him every week if not every day while he was growing up. I caught alot of the cute things he did...but one thing I missed was how he always want to sleep behind the toilet in the bathroom that was off our family room. Any time I couldn't find him that is where I looked. Of course he out grown the toilet bed, it is sad that I missed that picture.

5 months old

One of his favorite places to be. He could keep track of us.

^Mulligan^ was crate trained. The breeder started it even before I got him. He didn't mind it, enjoyed it, and saved me alot of worry when I was gone.
One day I decided I would leave him out of his crate while I was at work...wrong thing to do. I now have a wicker chest with one corner missing..You know I'll never be with out that chest. Just to see that corner makes me smile...now...not then..

He did this all on his own

^Mulligan^ was my friend, my child, my hero. When ^Mullie^ was very young..maybe 6 months...he brought me a baby robin in his mouth...not hurt..not touched by any teeth. I found a place to leave it so its mom could find it. ^Mulligan^ and I kept a eye on the baby and soon mom came down and they hopped away. ^Mulligan^ looked up at me with those dark brown eyes that I could read so well and said..."Cool mom"....

One of the last healthy pictures

This was taken right before ^Mulligan^ got sick..

        Lend Me a Pup

I will lend to you for awhile,
a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and mourn for him when he's dead.

Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call him back,
take care of him for me.

He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true
And from the folk that crowd's life's land
I have chosen you.

Now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come
to take my Pup back again.

I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shelter him with tenderness
we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known
forever grateful stay

But should you call him back
much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.

If, by our love, we've managed,
your wishes to achieve
In memory of him we loved,
to help us while we grieve,

When our faithful bundle
departs this world of strife,
We'll have yet another Pup
and love him all his life.
